An Introduction to: QGBC’s –Qatar Sustainable Construction Materials Certification Scheme (QSCMCS) by CARES
Our leadership and the governmental organizations are working to integrate the seventeen sustainable development goals in their various projects, and the requirements of the economic, social and environmental aspects of development have become an integrated process that seeks to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Qatar’s 2nd National Development Strategy 2018-2022.
Based on these strategies, sustainability applications in the construction industry in the State of Qatar have become important and greatly increasing, and this requires reliable data and evaluation of building materials used in the extent of their commitment to sustainability standards.
In this regard, Qatar Green Building Council worked with CARES organization to develop and operate the "Qatar Sustainable Construction Materials Certification Scheme (SCMC)”. This system aims to ensure confidence in the consideration of building materials for all aspects of sustainability, including environmental, social and economic aspects.
