CFD Simulation for Thermal Comfort and Energy Efficiency - WEBINAR

By:
Jon Wilde, VP Customer Success, SimScale

1 Hour
February 18, 2020

Venue: online webinar

Timing: 02:30 pm Doha time

Scope

Regions with a hot climate such as the Middle East are known for maintaining heavily air-conditioned spaces in an effort to achieve proper indoor cooling. Ensuring thermal comfort in commercial, residential or office buildings is no easy task, as it requires mediating adequate indoor temperatures with air conditioning systems against an overwhelmingly hot outdoor climate. Due to this, often the occupants feel either too cold or too warm indoors. Moreover, AC units running at excessive levels year-round imply a high amount of energy consumed, which increases overhead costs for the buildings as well as has damaging effects on the environment.

To tackle both challenges—ensuring thermal comfort and increasing energy efficiency—architects and engineers are using simulation technology to virtually test their designs and optimize them to meet customer demands and industry standards.

In this exclusive webinar, SimScale and Qatar Green Building Council will show participants how to:
  • Assess and ensure thermal comfort and energy efficiency within a standard web browser
  • Visualize numerical simulation results in order to assess requirements for LEED or BREEAM certification
  • Use the power of cloud computing to virtually test multiple design iterations and improve performance.
  • Receive a certificate of attendance and LEED CE hours accredited by the Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC)
There is no prior knowledge or software required to join this workshop. All participants will get free access to SimScale with all the required simulation features. If you can’t attend the live sessions, we would still encourage you to register in order to receive the recordings.

Who Should Attend:
  • Architects as well as civil, HVAC, and sustainability engineers
  • Professionals whose work requires meeting thermal comfort and energy efficiency standards
  • Everyone interested in the application of CFD simulation in HVAC and building design

Fees per attendee:
  • free to attend online sessions
